Our MindOverAnxiety group program is specifically designed to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to calm your mind, overcome unhelpful thinking patterns, and reduce the constant worry that anxiety causes. This 6-week program is for individuals ready to take control and reclaim peace of mind, under the expert guidance of a registered counsellor.
What to Expect:
In this 6-week program, we will meet for 90 minutes each week in a supportive group setting to tackle anxiety head-on.
We’ll focus on:
- Understanding Anxiety: Dive deep into the roots of anxiety and how it affects your body and mind. You’ll learn how to recognize the warning signs before they spiral into overwhelming fear.
- Psychoeducation: Anxiety thrives on misunderstanding. We’ll debunk the myths that keep you stuck and replace them with clear, empowering knowledge about how anxiety works and how to stop feeding it.
- Limiting Beliefs: We’ll expose the unhelpful core beliefs and thought patterns that fuel your anxiety. Discover how negative self-talk, fear of failure, and self-criticism hold you back, and learn how to replace them with realistic, positive thinking.
- Strategies for Lasting Change: Each week, you’ll leave with practical, actionable strategies to stop anxiety in its tracks. From mindfulness techniques to grounding exercises and cognitive-behavioral tools, you’ll be equipped with a toolkit to soothe your mind and calm your body in moments of panic.
- Overcoming Safety Behaviors: Do you find yourself avoiding situations that trigger your anxiety? We’ll help you break the cycle of avoidance and safety behaviors that keep anxiety in control and give you the confidence to face situations that once seemed impossible.
Who Should Join?
This group is perfect for you if:
- You feel overwhelmed by anxiety. Whether it’s work, relationships, or daily responsibilities, the constant worry has become exhausting.
- You struggle with overthinking and fear the worst. You find yourself stuck in loops of what-ifs and worst-case scenarios, unable to find peace.
- You use safety behaviors to cope. Avoiding certain situations, avoiding confrontation, or staying in your comfort zone to feel safe—this program will help you break free from these traps.
- You’re ready to take control of your life again. You’ve had enough of anxiety dictating your choices and are ready to face it with the right tools and support.
This group is not for you if:
- A certain amount of worry is completely normal in everyday life. However, if your worry, tension, and anxiety have become excessive, if they are affecting you most of the time and have been persistent for more than 6 months, you could be experiencing symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
- You are not willing to put in the work.
